Check Out These Black- Owned Businesses in Boston and Martha's Vineyard

As we move along with my Black-owned business tour, I took a weekend trip to Boston and Martha’s Vineyard. I’ve been to Boston before as a teenager and I thought it would be a good idea to go back and see what it was like as an adult. Martha’s Vineyard was very different and I needed to see what the “hype” was as a first time goer. Check out my list of places I went to. The food and ambiance will not dissapoint!

Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen

I ordered the “Black Magic Woman” drink and the Fisherman Platter from Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen in Boston. It was amazing! They have a live band that plays in the early afternoon and then a DJ set at night.

The Urban Grape

The Urban Grape has free wine tastings every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This location is also a 15 minute walk from Darryl’s Corner Bar and Kitchen.

Donovan’s Reef

I took a day trip to Martha’s Vineyard from Boston to see what the “hype” was and came across a few more Black owned businesses. Donovan’s Reef is located next to Nancy’s Restaurant in Oaks Bluffs. His speciality drink is called the “Dirty Banana".

C’est La Vie

Are you looking for greek paraphernalia? This store is it! This gift shop has a mixture of jewelry, clothing, and other gifts to take home to your loved ones. The location is: 51 Circuit Ave, Oak Bluffs, MA.

In The Bluff

Check out “In The Bluff” in Oak Bluffs, MA. This is another Black owned store. They also sell greek paraphernalia and other cute souvenirs. They are located on the same street is “C’est La Vie.”

Chef Deon’s Kitchen

Chef Deon serves up his island classics alongside light American fare at the swanky VFW outpost in the town of Oak Bluffs. His location is in more of a residential area.

Fat Ronnie’s Burger

Their original location can be found downtown in the historic town of Oak Bluffs on the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts. Their newest location opened March 9, 2020 in Miami Beach, Florida.

Flavors

This bar and a restaurant is located in Oaks Bluff across the street from The Cardboard Box and near Fat Ronnie’s Burger. We didn’t get a chance to eat here, but the nightlife was good. Flavors sells American cuisine with a southern twist.
