Porta Jersey City
I traveled to Jersey City last weekend for a mini getaway. It was the perfect weekend to be outside since it was warm and the elections were finally projected. Honestly, it was a celebration. The vibes were different and people seemed relieved to hear the news.
Porta Jersey City serves seasonal brunch, lunch, dinner, and late night menus. This location is very popular and known for the best pizza in New Jersey, as well as weddings, private events, and nightlife, located one block from the Grove Street PATH station. Due to COVID, it is best to make reservations because it is a popular venue. They have outdoor and indoor dining, but the rooftop was adorable. It was lit with lightbulbs hanging from above and people were practicing social distancing. We received a free margherita pizza because Biden/Harris won. This was unexpected and not planned. I don’t say no to free food either. Just saying. lol Their menu has different types of pizzas. I would also recommend the meatballs as a side and the Italian Stallion pizza option. Drinks were good, too. It was a White Door sangria type of day.
The cafe area is right on Newark Ave Pedestrian Plaza, a closed off street full of restaurants, bars and businesses. An area where there is so much excitement, and life. I promise, you won’t be disappointed!
