Things To Do In Los Angeles
Dear L.A.,
You always know how to show me a good time! L.A. holds a special place in my heart each time I go.
This time I decided to break it up into a few posts since I was in L.A. for almost a month. This first L.A. post is dedicated to some locations that I highly recommend if you plan on visiting. Check out some of these eateries and lounges below that I went to in Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Malibu, and downtown L.A.
Happy reading! ☀️
Mama Shelter L.A.
Mama Shelter is a very cute restaurant and a hotel in L.A. The vibes are good for brunch, dinner, and/or just to have drinks at the bar. You’ll have the most amazing view of LA when you sit on their rooftop. The rooftop is heated as well since it can get cold at night. I haven’t stayed at their hotel, but I’ve heard all positive comments about it. Pictured: Market Salad/ Drink: Endless Summer
Crusteceans
Crusteceans is an iconic restaurant in Beverly Hills. You never know who you will bump into there. Make sure you are dressed to impress! They are known for their iconic garlic noodles, but all of their food is good. Sunday brunch was so good! Pictured: Avocado Toast, Shaken Steak & Eggs, French Toast Fries
Santa Monica Pier
The Santa Monica Pier is a large double-jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica. It contains a small amusement park, concession stands, and areas for views and fishing. You can go to the beach and relax for the day or just walk along the pier and check out the amusement park. There is a fee for parking.
Elephante Beach House
Elephante is located in Santa Monica. This restaurant is close to the Santa Monica Pier. They are known for their Italian cuisine in breezy, loungelike dining areas with ocean views. Pictured: Gemelli, Diver Scallops, Branzino Drink: Elephante Not Pictured: Calamari. The dipping sauce with the calamari was AMAZING! (Highly recommend)
Malibu Farm
Malibu Farm is a rustic-chic bistro with an oceanfront deck serving farm-to-table New American fare & local wine. You can walk down the pier to take pictures and enjoy the scenery as well. It’s not too far from Santa Monica Pier. You can actually go to both areas in one day since they are on the same highway.
Prank Bar
Prank is located downtown L.A. It is a walk-up open bar near the Staples Center serving with burgers, tacos & inventive cocktails. We picked this spot for happy hour, but it’s also good for dinner or just drinks. Tip: I ordered the Pan Seared Chicken and it was amazing! Pictured: Passion Flower (drink)
The Wayfarer Downtown Los Angeles
If you’re looking for rooftop vibes, then Wayfarer is it for you. You can also stay within easy walking distance of some of downtown LA’s best things to see and do. Their rooftop perch is the gathering place for kindred spirits. Take in the night sky, expand your cocktail horizons at the bar, or stake a spot for the ultimate private event. We had a private event here and the vibes were so good! It was the perfect view of DTLA.
Bootsy Bellows
David Arquette is an owner of this vaudeville-inspired hot spot with variety acts. This nightclub is named after his mother. Bootsy Bellows is located in West Hollywood on Sunset BLVD. Combining a variety of live entertainment, including DJs, and music performances.
E.P. & L.P.
E.P. & L.P. is a stylish spot for rooftop drinks & Southeast Asian fare with a full indoor dining room, located in West Hollywood. I loved the rooftop because it had a nice view of LA. You can get a section for your friends (That’s what we did) or just pick a night to go randomly.
Liaison Restaurant and Lounge
Liaison Restaurant and Lounge venue is a contemporary-chic nightspot with eclectic American bites, cocktails, DJs, dancing & themed events. It is also known as the “ultimate Hollywood gem. Terrence J, a former host of 106 & Park, held his party here and it was such a good time!
Taco Tuesdays With Stevie Mackey
Stevie Mackey is one of Los Angeles’ most well-respected vocal coaches so it’s no wonder his south L.A. house serves as a singer’s stage. Under the banner Taco Tuesdays, Mackey, who has worked on “The Voice” hosts this exclusive, invite-only monthly gathering which boasts no list, no RSVP. This was literally a LA kickback. You never know who you’re going to bump into when you go to his events. Taco Tuesday has become a safe haven for individuals to perform, eat and commune. Sidenote: I was breathing the same air as Cynthia Erivo, Lena Waithe, Jennifer Lopez, Brandy, Keke Palmer, Leslie Jones, and so many other infuencers. Pictured: Leslie Jones
L.A. Live
L.A. Live is an entertainment complex in the South Park District of Downtown Los Angeles, California. It is adjacent to the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center. The BET Awards was the first live event we have had since 2019.
Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffle
Roscoe's House of Chicken 'N Waffles is a Los Angeles County soul food restaurant chain founded by Herb Hudson in 1975. I always make a run at one of these locations when I go to L.A. They are known for their chicken and waffles. I always get the “Obama Special.”
LACMA
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is an art museum located on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile vicinity of Los Angeles. It’s infamously known for their light post installation outside of the museum.
