This month I decided I wanted to highlight some of my own friend’s personal businesses because they have been working extremely hard on their brands. It was only right. I have the pleasure of introducing you all to Chenelle T. Lature, MSW, LSCW, who is a licensed counselor , Paige McFarland, who is a certified gym trainer, and Jeremiah Brown, who is a motivational speaker , the CEO of LEAD, and a former NFL athlete.
Staycation at Black- Owned Hotel: Salamander Resort and Spa
Sheila Johnson, co-founder of Black Entertainment Television (BET), is the owner of the 168-room Salamander Resort & Spa. It’s no surprise that this luxurious 340-acre property, located in the Virginia countryside, took a decade to build and design, opening its doors in August 2013.

The SVA Theatre host a variety of events year-round, both private and public. In addition to serving the needs of the School of Visual Arts, it is available to the community at large. This is the perfect location for intimate event such as this.
